15ml Centrifuge Tubes and Caps
Strong, Heavy-Walled Urinalysis Tubes Molded of Polystyrene or Polypropylene
While 15ml Centrifuge Tubes are intended primarily for urinalysis procedures, they are also useful for general purpose centrifugation, for Histology, Cytology, Ova or Parasite
Exams, and for sample storage. Conical boffom design allows for complete sample pick-up, while graduations at every 1ml, up to 15mI, simplify fluid measurements. Uniform
in size and accuracy, tubes measure 17mm x 114mm. With one of the thickest plastic sidewalls, these may be the toughest, least breakage-prone, tubes available.
Clear Polystyrene 15ml Tubes demonstrate good chemical resistance to aqueous solutions of mild bases and weak acids. However, polystyrene is not compatible with
organic solvents, aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbons, nor can it be autoclaved. With a rating of at least 1800 RCF, polystyrene tubes are recommended for use in most
centrifuges at speeds to approximately 3600 RPM.
Translucent Polypropylene 15ml Tubes, on the other hand, are virtually unbreakable, and can be autoclaved to 121*C. These tubes withstand at least 3000 RCF and 5000 RPM. At
room temperature, polypropylene tubes will also contain most common acids, solvents and alkalies.
Traditional Plug-type Closures, made of polyethylene, form a leak-resistant, odor-proof seal which prevents evaporation or contamination of sample by airborne
micro-organisms. Closures are offered in three convenient packages including zip-lock bags of 500, as well as more economical bulk bags of 1,000 and 5,000 per case.
For greatest economy there are three different bulk packs available for 15mI Centrifuge
Tubes. These include either one bag of 1,000 tubes, or one bag of 500 tubes, or four bags of 250 tubes per case, randomly loaded. For additional packaging information, please see product
